Moving and Handling at Work - Training for nursing and care homes
This course aims to introduce delegates to the principles and practice of moving and handling. It will increase awareness of possible injuries to themselves and enable them to carry out client transfer operations safely, with dignity and comfort. Training can be completed on location at your premises or at our Training Centre in Glasgow.
Refreshment of this qualification is recommended annually.

Principles and Practice of within the Nursing/Carer Environment at Place of Work
This course will be part practical, part theory and consist of 6 modules with expected completion time in a single day.

B. Manual Handling of Inanimate Loads
C. Chair Manoeuvres - Static / Wheeled
D. Bed Manoeuvres - Profile / Static / Slide Sheets
E. Hoisting - Passive / Active. Stand Aid / Lift Hoists. High Levels / Low Levels
F. Lateral Transfers - Trolley to bed

Principles of Muscular disorders
Legislation- TILE- Risk Assessments
Safe Working Environment
Duty of Care
Methods of moving loads
Communication and reporting
Practical Training and Assessments.

Delegates must inform of any injury, illness, physical impairment or pregnancy due to the mandatory practical elements of the course. Loose, comfortable and non-revealing clothing is advised for safety, comfort and preservation of dignity.
